About National Interpreting Service
Cynthia AndersonFounder and Chief Executive officer of National Interpreting Service, Inc. dba Anderson Interpreting Service. Cynthia has been working as a private practice sign language interpreter since 1993 providing interpreting services for a variety of clients across the state of Oregon. She earned her BS with Summa Cum Laude honors from Western Oregon State College 1993 and her NAD III national interpreting certification in 1991 as well as her RID certifications CI and CT in 1993. Cynthia has a degree in Psychology with a minor in Hearing-Impaired Studies.
Cynthia is also a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), the National Association of the Deaf (NAD), Oregon Association of the Deaf (OAD), and the Oregon Chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (ORID). Strongly supporting the Deaf Community, National Interpreting Service sponsored the 2013 Oregon Association for the Deaf Conference in Wilsonville, Oregon. It was an honor to sponsor this event.
In her free time, Cynthia serves as a volunteer in many capacities in Oregon. Cynthia is also a member of the International Medical Interpreters Association and serves as a mentor through this organization. She is also a volunteer wish granter for Oregon Make-A-Wish Foundation, mentors new sign language interpreters, enjoys gourmet cooking, learning Spanish, studying medicine, other cultures, and spending time with her family.
Strongly believing in helping worthy causes, a portion of profits are donated annually to various non-profit organizations in hopes that our contribution will help change the lives of others. We’re small enough to take care of you personally. We take the time to answer your questions or resolve any concerns, and yet we are large enough to fill your interpreting requests, whether you request a month in advance or have an immediate need for a sign language interpreter.
Flexible and Professional- We work with the State of Oregon, are a WVP Health Authority Approved Contractor, Exclusive Sign Language Provider Agency for several hospitals and health organizations, provider for SAIF and private insurance companies, contracted with law offices, federal government, and non-profit community organizations - as well as being an Organizational and Individual certified member of OAD,ORID, NAD, and RID.
